Wordpress doesn't like me :)

Is anybody else having problems commenting on Wordpress blogs? Sometimes it takes me 2 or 3 attempts to leave a comment. Or I think I have but it's not showing up.

I've now discovered that when I do manage to comment, the link back to my blog generates a warning message that my blog might be spam!

I've checked possible issues my end, and comments I've left on other domains - it's just Wordpress. Some of my favourite blogs use Wordpress so this is very frustrating :(

Any ideas for a solution would be gratefully received!

  1. I was having this problem a while ago too! My issue ended up getting fixed because some time after all those commenting problems, I decided I might want to switch to Wordpress, so I actually opened an account. I later decided not to switch my blog over, but now at least I can comment on Wordpress blogs under my Wordpress account. (They usually still won't let me comment under my Google account.)

So, while that may not be much help, at least you know you're not the only one!

  2. I have problems as well, and was thinking of a the same solution Gail used. Some wordpress users do the same with blogger so they can comment.

    1. Oh boy, sounds like 2 accounts might be the only reliable way forward!

  3. I just think that wordpress and blogger don't like each other very much, which is a real shame :( as the owner of a wordpress blog, I have real issues commenting on blogger ones - there is no way that I can get my picture to show next to my comment (as you'll see when I submit this one), I get the wordpress icon if I comment with wordpress, and a blank silhouette if I comment with name/url. The only way to get my image is to comment with google login, which then doesn't link back to my blog. Sigh. I also find it never works if I try to comment on an ipad or iphone, it has to be on a computer. I really wish they'd just make up and get along, for all our sakes!

    1. You're right - it's definitely worse when I use an ipad. Wouldn't it be lovely if they could get along! :)
